This New Boxed Wine is 100% Texas Grapes and Its Shockingly Good – Southern Living
Wine from a box doesn’t exactly scream refinement. Sure, grabbing a jumbo carton of red or white for a backyard hang is fine, and even the most discerning connoisseurs (or snobs if you prefer) probably won’t care if someone drops an ice cube in their glass. But boxed wine still has a reputation for being… well, basic. It’s universally accepted that quality wine is poured from glass bottles with real corks and that boxed wine is just okay, at best.
Texas winemaker Ron Yates has flipped the script with the rollout of the Get Together, the first boxed wine made from 100 percent Texas-grown grapes. Introduced in August 2025, this red blend shows up to the party in distinctively retro red and yellow packaging with instructions to “Enjoy with family, friends, and neighbors.”
